At Mewra, we believe your work data belongs to you. We built Mewra from the ground up to respect your privacy and keep your activity secure on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Mewra application for macOS and our website.

1. Data Collection & On-Device Processing

Mewra is a local-first application. By default, all tracking data, application usage logs, and summaries are stored entirely on your local machine.

No Screenshot Uploads: We do not take, store, or upload screenshots of your computer.
No Keystroke Logging: We do not record or monitor your keystrokes.
No Cloud Telemetry: We do not track your minute-by-minute activity on our servers.

2. Optional Cloud Integrations

Mewra offers optional features that require internet access. These features are strictly opt-in:

AI Summarization: If you choose to use Cloud AI providers (such as Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude) for summarization, the specific subset of your activity data required for summarization is sent securely to the respective API provider. You are subject to the privacy policies of the AI provider you select. Local AI models (like Ollama or Apple Intelligence) process data entirely on your device.
Git Integration: Mewra can optionally sync with GitHub or GitLab to enrich your activity context. We only fetch metadata (such as branch names or PR titles) and do not access or upload your source code.

3. iCloud Synchronization

To provide features like the Apple Watch companion app without requiring an iPhone bridge or our own servers, Mewra utilizes Apple's iCloud via CloudKit. Your data is synced securely between your Mac and your Apple Watch using your personal Apple ID. Mewra developers have absolutely no access to this synced data.

4. Website Analytics & Cookies

When you visit our website (mewra.app), we may collect basic, anonymized analytics to help us understand website traffic and improve our marketing. We do not use intrusive tracking cookies or sell your browsing data to third parties.

5. Your Rights & Control

Because Mewra stores your data locally, you have ultimate control over it. You can delete your tracking history, uninstall the application, or clear your local database at any time. We cannot delete your data for you because we do not have it.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as we add new features. We will notify users of any significant changes via our website or within the application.
